What happened during the last 2 months...

Whoa! It's been almost 2 months since I last updated my blog. There's so much to tell but I can't seem to juggle my time right.

Well, to sum up all the things that happened since November, here are infarctions in my routine life:

  • I went to Duty Free for the first time. I bought badminton/tennis shoes and a whole lotta chocolates.
  • I went to The Wonderful World of Dolphins with Sea Lions in Metrowalk. I'd seen dolphins and Sea Lions for the first time and I was kinda excited. The shows absolutely for kids, though. Dolphins' eyes are kinda weird-looking, but I still want to be a dolphin in my next life.
  • During our Christmas Party in the office, I received an award, Special Citation in Dancing (ehem!) for our Video presentation of the new hires. The prize is Php 1000 worth of gift certificates in Azzurro Bar and Bistro in Linden Suites.
  • I was also nominated for Best Dressed Male (impersonating Jason Mraz), but lost to my office mate who impersonated Boy George. Anyways, I still liked the fact that I was nominated.
  • Since the Christmas Party I actually rose to fame in the office. Haha! The General Manager for Emerson even called me the "Video Star". And lots of people congratulated me. (The secret to that is to play silent and timid in the office, then turn on the heat later! Voila! Instant celebrity! Haha)
  • My brother got married to his 6-year girlfriend. I was one of the ushers and I remembered why I didn't want to be one: The secondary sponsors get to wear the stupid costumes! I wore an orange barong for goodness' sake!

I'm in the office right now and it seems that nothing much is gonna happen in the next few days until the New Year. Hopefully I'd have a wonderful year ahead of me. And another year of firsts to come ahead.

Ciao!

Pesto!

I Love Pesto! No need to say more - so in tribute to my most favorite pasta sauce in the world, here's a review of all pestos I've tasted in various restos (in order of decreasing preference):

1. Chocolate Kiss Pesto 9.5/10 - no excess oil, lots of parmesan cheese, plus crunchy walnuts - the best!

2. World Chicken Pesto Cream 9.1/10 - tastes so good with their chicken and mashed potato! Yum!

3. Tomato Kick Pesto 9.0/10 - wanna give credit to this small resto! beats all italian restos

4. Tomato Kick Pesto Aligue 7.9/10 - can't taste the aligue, but tastes ok!

5. Friulli Trattoria Pesto 7.0/10 - very strong aroma, sauce is overflowing, large serving (good for 2)

6. Spaghetti Factory Pesto Classic 5.0/10 - mediocre - from color to taste....

Still waiting to taste (and judge) other restaurants!

watch that business!

What your brain can't see, your eyes can't see. I find it a fact that you don't get notice some things until it tickles your mind a little bit. Ever since I start to get myself involved in the world of logistics, I now appreciate the presence of cargo trucks in highways. Before they were just a bunch of big trailer vans causing traffic and pretending to be kings of the road because of their size, and I never even bothered to look at them and see what kind of business they are up to. Now I learn to appreciate their company name, the size of their van, their logo, the IATA code, their slogan and even how many times I can see them on the road and where they're heading to. I'm beginning to learn their importance in business because I am now involved with my company's global logistics. It amazes me all the time whenever I see Nittsu/Nippon, Dimerco, OOCL, DHL, UPS, Maersk and other small time forwarders and carriers and wonder how I haven't noticed them for the past 24 years. I wonder what I'm gonna learn to appreciate and discover next? Hmm, how about airports? Sounds cool to me, heehee! Looking forward to that!

I am definitely going to study how the stock market works! I never understood it since the beginning of time. All I can see in the TV are charts going up and down, people very busy with their computers and paper works, how many points a company had gained or went down, those stock codes that never really mean a thing to me. But when you come to think of it, people actually go ga-ga and get rich with these stuff! Even my officemate is getting to it. Then I ask, why don't I try it myself? It's like doing another but more serious business! And an adventurous way to earn (or probably lose) your money! I'll just give myself time to have a little more money for a capital and time to study how it really works and I'll be all set! Kudos!

Kyle XY

I highly recommend the TV Show Kyle XY. It's definitely one of the best I've ever seen! So amazing! Despite only having 10 episodes in the first season (which I finished watching last weekend), the storyline is still perfect. I can't wait to watch it over and over again. It's a mixture of 7th Heaven, Jake 2.0, Smallville, Prison Break and Bones but eventually having its own original concept! Argh! Can't wait for season 2!

P.S.:

Hairspray is very good, too! John Travolta is awesome. I wonder if he'll win best actor or actress though. Haha!

I'm so back! ( - and torn!)

...is the tagline of Dawn Zulueta's new billboard in EDSA. I kinda relate myself and my current situation to it coz now I'm back working in the same company - after a month and a half of being a bummer. And I'm also back blogging! Haha! I missed doing this!

Kinda torn right now to where am I gonna reside... the easiest option is to go back to Pasig since a lot of rooms are available there and it's just a walking distance from where I work. But thinking about it, I really don't wanna rent a bedspace, sharing a room with complete strangers. The other option is that I can stay at Menki's and Polie's apartment - there at least I have someone to talk to, I can even cook and move freely. The downside is that it's much farther and I don't like the idea of commuting during midnight (since I'd be scheduled for a 3-11 pm shift soon - and probably for a long time).
Well, I still got a whole week deciding.

P.S. My dad's gonna buy a new car soon, and I told him I'd be 'inheriting' the old car if I help him pay the remaining downpayment not covered by his company. I hope he won't take it back coz I'm getting excited, even if the car's more than a decade old, haha! Gotta enroll in driving lessons soon - but wait, license first! (Laugh Out Loud! Haha, probably 99.95% of the population would have used lol by this time)

Screwed

June 15 marked a totally screwed-up day!

I felt awkward when I took my breakfast at Starbuck's alone. Azuri Scone and the Guava Juice tasted awesome, but the people around me makes all the uncomfy feeling. Students from UA&P chit-chatting in a coño manner, ugh!

I really felt bad when my colleague scolded me and lectured me on how the way things done! He told me to ask questions if I needed to, which I didn't do at first, because I'm still not doing the recent assignment he gave me because the when I tried to do it the usual way I'm doing it didn't work, i stopped first to read other emails. He got to ask first if I have questions, and when I said yes, he started lecturing me that I would never get it done without asking question, blah blah blah... and I don't wanna talk about it anymore. But I really felt bad for a long time.

And the ground floor of our building caught fire! So we had to climb down the stairs from the 31st floor down. My knees hurt as we reached the exit! Imagine going down 31 floors (technically 29 floors only since 14th and 13th floors does not exist) in 5 minutes! And we all feel nervous because we don't know what floor is on fire yet. And the sound of the alarm system strikes it right through your nerves. Good thing the fire's not that big!

There's always a first time for everything, don't they?
